About

Homa Style blog is an outlet for my overflowing design rumblings running around in my head. My philosophy is calm, simple, fresh and very important happy; designed to fit the way we really live.

I live in “the cabin” with “my guy”which is always changing and evolving…

"The Cabin"

sometimes all over the kitchen counters, the floor and all other available surfaces.

Yes, that’s an elk…we have real elk around “the cabin” especially in the fall during rut season (matting season)!

MessyAndSewing

Me at about 6. Sewing drapes for the living room and creating a mess! I still create a mess when creativity overflows.

I love my home to be pretty, even when my home was a small duplex next to the train tracks. I’m not a fan of spending lots of money and found ways to make the home items I saw in stores or home magazines. While living on the central coast of California I started Porch Decor, a decorating and furniture design business.

I was actually excited to get saw blades for a gift!

Now with the aid of the computer I design decorating plans online for clients nationwide. Clients complete a questionnaire covering their lifestyle, tastes, needs, dreams and their budget for the room. Then take measurements and some pictures of the room. Then I design a step by step plan for the client to complete as their time and budget permit. Below is a sample of part of a decorating plan. The actual plans come in a binder and can be up to 20 pages.

The little workshop where I design projects for Homa Style, using discards, scraps and many found treasures.
